Specific Description
Very strong technical discipline in the repair of Electronic Test Equipment. Performs a wide variety of Metrology Laboratory tasks concerned with calibration, inspection, repair and certification of Electronic Test and Measurement Equipment. Performs calibration, troubleshooting, repair and certification of complex Electronic Test and Measurement Equipment. Determines and requests support services; modifies or recommends modifications to equipment techniques to improve calibration processes; designs and develops new calibration and test aids when required; uses a variety of diagnostic equipment to isolate malfunctions of Electronic Test and Measurement Equipment. Completes required documentation to certify the verification of repair and calibration of Electronic Test and Measurement Equipment. Should be familiar with ISO certification requirements.

General Position Description
Repairs, tests, calibrates, adjusts, and maintains electronic test and measuring instruments to conform to set standards. Assists in the setup of established repair methods and procedures according to detailed blueprints, drawings, and instructions. May disassemble, clean, repair, and replace defective parts of electronic test equipment. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Should be familiar with standard repair and calibration procedures.

Typical Minimum Education Required
High School diploma with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree, PMEL and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks.

10 years or more
